AVG has recently announced an upgrade from their current version of 7.5 to their new 8.0 version.  The new version includes a number of enhancements and some new features.  I'll let you read all the details on their website and will focus here on upgrading your free version of AVG.  I will note that if you are a business, you need to purchase AVG.  The free version is only available for personal use.  You might want to read the License Agreement if you are not sure if you need to purchase AVG or can use the free version.

 

If you don't currently have AVG installed on your PC skip to the Download/Install instructions.

 

The first thing you must do to upgrade AVG is to uninstall your current version of AVG.

 

1.  Open your Control Panel by clicking on Start/Settings/Control Panel

2.  Double-Click on Add/Remove Programs

3.  Locate "AVG Free Addition", click it once, and click Change/Remove. 

4.  Follow the instructions for removing AVG

 

Note: You may need to reboot your computer at this point.

 

 

Now you need to download the new version.  Click on the link below.  Locate the version of AVG you need, download it and run the program you download to install it.
