Google Ads Management

Google makes it very busy to buy ads and get listed very high very quickly.  Start to finish you can have your first ad up and running within 10 minutes.  Instand ads, instant traffic, instant money, right???   Wrong!!!!

Well, maybe.  If you wrote your ad text correctly and you picked the right keywords and you have the right products you can start making money (profits) almost instantly.  However, in most cases first timers don't write good ads the first time and don't pick the right keywords first try.  This article may help you understand the real process of creating a profitable ad campaign in Google.

Before you ever connect to Google here are some things you need to do so you will be ready.

1.  Research your keywords - My first tip here is to focus on 1 to 5 unique keywords.  By unique I'm talking about car and boat, not car and cars.  Depending on the product you are selling, you may only have 2 or 3 keywords you want to work with at first.  Google offers tools to help you figure out what works people search on but I've not found those really help me much but use them if you like.

2.  Write some ad text - Start out by searching your keywords and see what ads others are using and imporove on them.  This is an article in itself so I won't try to explain it all here.

3.  Pull out your Credit Card - Yes, this process will cost you a few dollars.  If I could look at your product and predict what keywords will work best for you, I'd bill you for that service and be rich.  However, nobody can tell you what keywords will convert well for you so you will have to spend some money on ads to firgure this out for yourself.

4.  Reserve some time on your schedule for the next month.  If you can't dedicate an average of one hour per day for the next 3 months, stop now and go get a job.

Ok, now your ready to get started.  Let me give you some of the basics.

You need to first understand Broad, Phrase and Exact matching.  There is way more to it that I'm going to write here but this will get you started.

Broad matching is where you have a keyword and Google takes that keyword and creates relationships with that keyword and other keywords that don't include your keyword in it's name.  For example, your keyword may be Dog and google may show your ads anytime somebody searches for Poodle.

Phrase matches include your keyword exactly.   An example of a phrase match would be if your keyword is "dog" and somebody searches on "dog food", your ad will show.

Exact matches are just want it says.  If your keyword is [dog], the only time your ad will show is if somebody searches for dog.

Notice the three ways I wrote the keywords.  When you setup your ad, you define your keywords as follows...  Broad=dog   Phrase="dog"   Exact=[dog]
