Classified Ads Help

The Classified Ads feature of this software allows you to quickly setup an area on your website so others can post ads of various types.  This will be especially helpful if you have a community based website and you would like to allow local companies to post job openings or you might setup a pet lost and found page. 
 
To get started, create a new page as you normally would.  You will want to add some terms and conditions and other legal related notes to the body of the page.  For this page the ads will display at the top and the body will display just under the ads with the entry form just under the body.  If you would like the ads to show with the body text you may be ask to place the variable [[[sysClassifiedAds]]] within your text by an administrator.
 
Classified Ads EditThe next step is to create a form by clicking on the Form tab.  The Form Type will be Classifieds.  Enter a name for your form that describes the purpose of this form.  Something like "Animal Lost & Found" would work great.  For Classifieds the EMail Results To field needs to have the email address you want people to receive email from as well as the address you want to receive the notices in.  The notices are for information only but will alert you when somebody has posted a new ad.
 
When somebody posts an ad they will be returned to the same page by default.  If you setup a special Thank You page, enter the page file name of that page in the Return To Page field.
 
By default the submit button will say "Submit".  If you would like to change then enter your short text in the Submit Button Title field.
 
The EMail Option is used to decides who confirms this listing before it shows up on the website.  If "Administrator Confirm" is selected, the email address listed in EMail Results To must confirm the listing before it shows on the website.  If Submitter Confirm is selected, either the person submitting the request can confirm the request or the person listed in EMail Results To.

Most of the email that is sent out is created by the software that drives the website.  However, the contents of Email Confirmation Text is added to the top of the email.  This is a good place to put a note to the submitter.
Click the text version of Save Changes.
 
Now you can create a form.  Refer to the Form Help for details on how to complete your form or contact support for help (at the moment there is no Form Help no this website so you will need to contact support).
 
Q.  How do I edit/delete an ad posted by somebody else.
A.  If you login to your website as an Administrator, just browse to the Classified Ad page and you will see your ads diplayed in forms rather than text.  You can now edit or delete your ads.
